Count Wladimir d’Adix-Dellmensingen [a.k.a Wally d’Adix] (d. at Zurich, Switzerland, 1973), who adopted the name of Farouk bin ‘Abdu’llah on his conversion to Islam 1938, Captain of Infantry Imperial Russian Army, served in the Great War 1914-1917 and with the Volunteer Army of General Denikin 1917-1920 as GSO to General Wrangel and liaison officer to the RAF, tourist guide and harpsichord teacher in Paris 1927, Sec-Gen International Hunting Council (Conseil International de la Chasse) 1930-1939, Official Expert Delegate of the French Ministry of the Colonies, Member Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, Société Nationale d’Acclimatation et de Protection de la Nature 1931, Société Ornithologique de France (Executive Committee) 1935, Union Aérophile de France, Aéro-club de France, etc., rcvd: the Order of the Eagle Cross 3rd class of Estonia (25.11.1935), and Knt of the Order of the Legion of Honour of France (12.10.1933), and twelve other decorations.
