About Cynthia Ann Ledbetter Horn

This day personally appeared before me the undersigned Notary Public in and for Collin County, State of Texas, Cyntha Horn a citizen of Collin Co. Tex. to me well known and being by me duly sworn deposes and says. My name is Cyntha Horn. I am 79 years old last Feb. I live in Collin co. Texas. I came to this County in 1845 from the Cherokee Nation. I am a Cherokee by blood. I was born and raised in the old Cherokee east of the Miss River. I moved to the Western Cherokee Nation in 1832. My maiden name was Daugherty. My father was James Daugherty, his Father was also James Daugherty, he had a half brother who was a Cherokee by blood whose name was Jack Daugherty, he had two families, old Uncle Jack Daugherty lived close by me when I was young, he had several sons, some of them had Cherokee names and some had bible names. One William and Leach Bible names, one Taloska, one Taleska Cherokee names. Uncle Jack Daugherty was very old when I knew him, he may have had other children. I knew of one William Daugherty who was a Cherokee in the Arkansas part of the cherokee Nation but I do not know that he was one of our family if so he must have been one of Uncle Jack Daugherty's sons. I don't remember that I ever saw him, I don't know much about Uncle Jack Daugherty's family. It is possible, that he had other children that I never saw. Some of his sons went west before me. her Cyntha x Horn mark Sworn to and subscribed before me this the 11th day of August 1892 M. Spradling, Notary Public in and for Collin County, Texas
