Cyrus Swan Roberts (USA), Brig. General (post Civil War)

United States Army Brigadier General. Gen. Roberts was active in the army service from 1861 until 1913. He was born on a farm near Lakeville, Ct. At the age of 21 he enlisted in the Union Army as a member of a NY regiment. During the Civil and Indian wars he served as an aide to Gen. Crook. He also served throughout the Spanish-American war. His elevation to the rank of brigadier-general occurred shortly before he retired in 1913.

Died at the age of 75 years at Seaside Hospital in Long Beach, CA. following a cerebral hemorrhage. He came to Long Beach 3 months ago accompanied by his daughter, the wife of Capt. Tilman Campbell. In addition to his daughter he leaves a son, Maj. C.D. Roberts.
