His first wife was Sarah Whitney Harrington.
His second wife was Elizabeth Bridge Garfield Harrington, the widow of Benjamin Garfield, and the daughter of Matthew Bridge and Ann Danforth Bridge of Lexington.
He was the son of Robert Harrington and Susannah George Harrington.

He was admitted a freeman April 18, 1690 He married first October 18, 1681 Sarah Whitney who died June 8, 1720, daughter of John and Elinor Whitney (sic). The Whitney family ancestry traces to William the Conqueror He married second October 25, 1720 Elizabeth Garfield, widow of Captain Benjamin Garfield and daughter of Matthew and Anna Bridge of Cambridge."
