Daniel was born in Duplin, Sampson County, NC. He married Sally Allen 7/27, 1815 in the Pike County, Mississippi Territory. She died 9/3/1851 and both are buried in this cemetery.

Together they had 8 children: Ervin Allen: married Mary G. Winborn; Felix Winchester: married Martha Cureton Dickson; Saphronia: married Dr. Davis C. Dickson, and at her death, her sister Nancy Ann Elizabeth married Dr. Dickson; Henry Colan: married Stacy A.
