John and Clarissa had 9 children:
John Magee - ever known as "Jackey" Magee married his cousin, Clarissa Magee in southwest Mississippi about 1816 during the Territorial period. Jackey Magee was the son of Jacob Magee & Mary (Scott) Magee. "Jacob and Mary Magee removed from Sampson County, North Carolina to Marion County, Mississippi, via Chesterfield, South Carolina. They are both buried in the Fleet Magee Cemetery, present-day Walthall County, Mississippi." Taken from page 8 of "Magee Histories: The Progenitors and Descendants of Jacob Magee and Mary Scott" by Bevin J. Creel, ©2004. For more on the Magee family consult this excellent resource of 1056 pages. This volume entails a century of Magee research put together in excellent form and fashion by Mr. Bevin J. Creel of Franklinton, Louisiana citing his sources every step of the way.
There are nine known children born to Jackey & Clarissa Magee:
After Clarissa's death Jackey married a second time on 9 Feb 1840 in Marion County to Anna Eliza Tynes (born 2 June 1806 in Liberty Co., Ga.; died 12 Jan. 1867 in Marion County, Miss.; probably buried in the Fleet Magee Cemetery) & they had seven children:

2. A great uncle of mine related that sometime after Jackey Magee's first wife had passed away his children by her lived in a separate house from the children he had by his second wife. Apparently this arrangement between half-siblings & step-mother seemed to work out well.
3. "ABSTRACTS OF OBITUARIES from the Minutes of the Magee's Creek Baptist Association (Mississippi & Louisiana) 1882-1924" compiled by E. Russ Williams, Jr., Associate Professor of History, Northeast Louisiana University, ©1978, page 18. John "Jackey" Magee's daughter, M. (should be "S" for Sarah) Jane (Magee) Tynes who died in 1888 is listed as the wife of John W. Tynes and the daughter of "Jackson and Clarissa Magee" leaving behind a husband and three sons. (State Line Baptist Church) Apparently, John "Jackey" Magee obtained his nickname from his middle name "Jackson."
