From Hadley, 1942, pg. 2:
Joseph's son, Daniel was born in Amsterdam, 1650, and the records of the New Amsterdam D.R.Ch. show that he married, Sept. 24, 1673, Sarah Rutgers of Esopus, daughter of Rutger Williamson Van Langendyck and Gysbertie Martyns. Daniel lived on the west side of Broad St. between Wall and Beaver Streets and was a maker of gun-stocks. While serving in the city guards during the Leisler troubles, Daniel lost an eye and was seriously injured by the premature discharge of a "great gone," Mar. 19, 1691. Sarah died Jan. 7, 1738, at the age of 95 years.
