About Danny Aiello
Danny Aiello was born on June 20, 1933 in New York City, New York, USA as Daniel Louis Aiello Jr. He was an actor and producer, known for Léon: The Professional (1994), Do the Right Thing (1989), Once Upon a Time in America (1984), Moonstruck (1987). Aiello's Broadway theatre credits include Gemini, The Floating Light Bulb, Hurlyburly, and The House of Blue Leaves. He also was in the 1976 Broadway play Wheelbarrow Closers, directed by Paul Sorvino. He has released several albums featuring a big-band sound.
Family
Aiello, the fifth of six children, was born on West 68th Street, Manhattan, the son of Italian American parents Frances (née Pietrocova), a seamstress who was a native of Naples, Italy, and Daniel Louis Aiello, Sr., a laborer.
He has been married to Sandy Cohen since January 8, 1955. They have four children: Danny Aiello III (died 2010); Rick Aiello, Jamie Aiello, and Stacy Aiello. He is the uncle of New York Yankees sportscaster (radio/play by play) Michael Kay.
