David Blalock Sept. 14, 1928 - June 18, 2007 Graveside services for David Blalock will be held at Union Cemetery on Monday morning, June 25, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. David was born September 14, 1928 and he passed away June 18, 2007 in Bakersfield, California. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Margaret Blalock; brother, Raymond Keylon and daughter, Charleen DaPrato. He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Betty Blalock; brother and sister-in-law, Curt and Audrey Greer and his sister, Annie Dean. David worked in the farming community most of his life. He was a pro boxer in his early years, he was known as "Dexter Destroyer". He loved animals of all kinds and he accepted all the orphaned critters that his wife brought home. You name it, we had it. He was a quite man with simple pleasures. He always got back up no matter how hard life "punched" him. He loved opera and classical music which most people did not know.
