Will of David Demarest (son of David and Sarah Berthoff Demarest). This will was probated Feb. 24, 1768--a codicil had been added March 28, 1767.

Will of David Demarest, Hackensack, Bergen County. yoeman: Wife--Catrina. She is to manage the plantation where I now live while my widow: eldest son Nicholas the mare I give him when he married and the land he now has so to make 35 acres he paying my daughter Elizabeth 11 pounds, and to my daughter Gertie 11 pounds, and to my daughter Lidia 11 pounds, and to my sons Petrus, David, Gileyem and Jacobus each 25 acres of land in the tract called the Gove.

Sons Samuel and Garret the plantation where I now live except the 25 acres to Nicholas; wife Catrina 100 pounds which I had from her father Van Houte: daughter Sarah 25 pounds; daughter Trintie 50 pounds; daughter Marya 50 pounds. Executors wife Catrina, eldest son Nicholas, my son David and my cousin Johannes Demarest. Witnesses Jacobus Brinkerhoff, Isaac Bogart and Jan Eckeson Codell--to children of daughter Sarah each 5 pounds.
