David Jarrett Jr. was born in or near the Jarrett's Wolf Creek Fort, in the now Monroe County, WVA. This fort was located down stream from the present town of Wolf Creek, and about 2/3 way to Greenbrier River. He died in the now Lawrence Co. (it was then Floyd) at his home on the Levisa Fork of the Big Sandy River and was buried in a cut stone vault constructed above the ground and from stone within the vicinity. This the first of it's kind in the big Sandy valley and the first in the state of KY.
