David H. Kline

• David Hartman Kline died at 11:10 o'clock Monday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Catherine Donley, 591 North Plum Street, aged 81 years. He was born October 1, 1838, at Silver Springs but resided at Klinesville until 18 years ago. Mr. Kline was a veteran of the Civil War, having been a wagoner in Co. K. 203 P. V. He was a farmer the greater part of his life and was assistant farmer at the County Alms House for a number of years. In politics, he was a republican and was president of the Citizens Republican Club for 18 years. He was supervisor of West Hempfield township for a number of years. Mr. Kline was a member of Gen. Welsh Post. 118, of Columbia. He is survived by eight daughters: Mrs. John Hartman, Columbia; Mrs. Mame Ross and Mrs. Carrie Hable, of Harrisburg; Mrs. Catherine Donley, Mrs. Frank Armstrong, Mrs. Elizabeth Resch and Mrs. George Marley, all of Lancaster; and Mrs. William Harrison, of Philadelphia; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Raxanna Kline, of Columbia; thirty grandchildren, 28 great grand children and one brother, Harry H. Kline, of Klinesville, also survive. Brief funeral services will be held from the home of his daughter, Mrs. Donley, on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and from the East James Reformed Mennonite church at 2:30 o'clock with interment in the Mennonite cemetery at Millersville.
