About David Joseph Lobel
David Joseph was an Orthodox Jew. He earned his living as a butcher. Cliff Lobel tells stories of how DJ would solicit "trimmings" from his customers so that he could distribute them to the less fortunate.
His tombstone in Washington Cemtery is massive, standing 10' tall.
Beatrice Lobel Benson remembers he had a brother named Aaron who lived with his family in the Bronx. This person is likely Bubeh Leah's brother "Fetter" Aaron, according to Edith Epstein and Ruth Agin.
