- Judge Jacqueline Henriques on Friday sentenced Bheki Qwabe (23), to 25 years’ imprisonment for murder and 15 years’ imprisonment for robbery with aggravating circumstances, but ordered the sentences to run concurrently.
- She also ordered both sentences to run concurrently with another five-year jail sentence Qwabe is already serving for a different murder he committed in 2012.
- She also took into account that courts have repeatedly said that murder and robberies have become a scourge in our society. Farm murders are particularly endemic and often involve attacks on elderly and vulnerable victims.
