David Maxson was a great grandson of Reverend John Maxson - First white child born in Rhode Island and pastor of 1st Hopkinton Seventh Day Baptist Church. from DAR vol, 18, p83 David Maxson was appoiinted Deputy by the General Assembly to procure ammunition for the colony. He was born in Westerly, R.I., 1729, where he died. David Maxson died on his far near Westerly from an accident with a hay fork and is buried there, though his wife is buried at Petersburg, New York, near her son, Capt.
