Descendants of two children of David Miller have been found to have a 7th-cousin-level DNA match and chromosome overlap in common with a Hoeck/Hamme family of York County, Pennsylvania, headed by Johann Jacob Hake . These children are Elizabeth Hochstetler and Joseph D. Miller . The family dates are such that the Hoeck child who produced these descendants would have been born between 1750 and 1765.
Since no such ancestor can be found in the current tree of David Miller, it appears that the tree is wrong in some fundamental way.
David was the third son and third child of eleven children born to John "Hannes" Miller, Jr. and Freny Yoder. David married Elizabeth Troyer (daughter of Michael David Troyer and Magdalena Mast). David was a farmer and lived in Holmes County, Ohio. They were Amish. David and Elizabeth had fourteen sons and one daughter:
Jonas D.
Daniel D.
Stephen D. Michael D. Noah D. David D., Jr. Yost D. Jacob D. (twin) Simeon D. (twin) Elizabeth Benjamin D. Moses D. Joseph D. Andrew D.
Three of their sons died young.
