David Phinney, Sr.

Biography

David Phinney was born on 10 June 1710 in Barnstable, the son of Ebenezer Phinney and Susanna Linnell. [1]He married Mary Pope, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Bourne) Pope, on 27 September 1733 in Sandwich. He died in Barnstable on 23 November 1793 in his 84th year.[2]

David Phinney's will, dated 1 July 1789 and proved 10 December 1793, mentions wife Mary; daughters Sarah Gorham and Mary Taylor; grandsons David and Peter Lewis; grandchildren Seth, Elizabeth Phinney, and Susannah, all Taylors; land of father Ebenezer Phinney.[2]
