Life Sketch
According to the ship records of "D Vos" [The Fox], he was 1-1/4 years old on arrival in Colony of New Netherlands, Netherlands on August 31, 1662. David came with his parents and two older brothers Gregorius and Pieter, and was probably born and baptized at Hertogenbosch as his father brought a letter from that church with him to "America" [Hertogenbosch is now the capital city of province of North Brabant, Netherlands]. After living in New Amsterdam [now New York] he removed with his parents first to Kingston in 1664, then back to New York in 1665 [England took control of New Amsterdam in 1664 & renamed it] to Brooklyn in 1671, to Tappan, Orange County New York about 1690 and in 1698 David was in Philips Burgh, where he married and settled with his family. David lived there the remainder of his life. Like his father, Dirck Storm, he was a very active member of the Sleepy Hollow Dutch Church. David preceded his father, Dirck Storm who did not remove to Philips Burgh until 1704. David Storm was elected Deacon 1699, Elder in 1702, 1703, 1707, 1710 [records missing 1711-1715] 1716, 1723, 2726, 1729, 1733 & 1730.
