David was the son of Daniel Wood and Sarah Andrews of Topsfield, Mass. He married (intention in Rowley, MA 15 Feb 1701/2) Mary SPOFFORD, b. Rowley 4 May 1680, the daughter of John Spofford and Sarah Wheeler. The printed Boxford Vital Record gives the date of the marriage intention as 5 Feb, but the original handwritten record gives the date as 15 Feb. David and Mary had seven known children, all of whose births were recorded in Boxford. Inscription: Here lyes buried the body of David Wood, Esq. who died August of 1744 in the 67th year of his age
