Daniel is mentioned in the will of his step-father 7547411 Lieut Francis Peabody -
He was fined for some minor offense in the court of 28 April 1669. In 1675 when he gave evidence concerning the burning of the ironworks at Rowley Village, he was said to be "about twenty-five" which must have been a slight understatement.

Inventory of the estate of Daniell Wood of Ipswich, deceased, taken 23 March 1649 by Robert Lord and Thomas Wells, lists a house with the ground about it, six acres at Heartbreak Hill, ten acres beyond Chebacco river and simple household utensils and furnishings amounting to 37 li. 16s., filed, and his widow Marye Wood, appointed administratrix 27: 1: 1649. She was to bring up the two children, the whole estate being left to her for that purpose.
