Nathan Peabody was born on 21 Jul 1682 in Boxford, Massachusetts. He was baptized February 8, 1683, Topsfield, Massachusetts.

On 29 Nov 1711, Nathan married Hannah Putnam in Salem, Massachusetts. They had four children before Hannah died in December 1718.

On 27 Mar 1723, Nathan married Priscilla Capen , widow of Jacob Thomas and daughter of Rev. Joseph Capen who was minister of the church in Topsfield for forty years.

Nathan and Priscilla had three children – Lucy being the youngest.

Nathan was chosen 17 November 1730 to become deacon of the First Church in Boxford. Nathan’s focus as church Deacon would have been on the spiritual and temporal life of the church. This would include the stewardship of Church funds, the care of the building, distributing collections among the poor. The Puritans insisted that the deacon should be a layman. A layman chosen and commissioned with care, could both serve the Church and work within the world. ....

Deacon Nathan Peabody died on 4 Mar 1732 in Boxford, Massachusetts at the age of 50. He clearly signed his will " Nathan Peabody." The will was probated 9 Apr 1733. His widow married Job Tiller on 1 June 1736.
