Nathan and Priscilla had three children – Lucy being the youngest.

Nathan was chosen 17 November 1730 to become deacon of the First Church in Boxford. Nathan’s focus as church Deacon would have been on the spiritual and temporal life of the church. This would include the stewardship of Church funds, the care of the building, distributing collections among the poor. The Puritans insisted that the deacon should be a layman. A layman chosen and commissioned with care, could both serve the Church and work within the world. ....
