Ben M. Angel notes:

Francis Peabody is listed by an unknown primary source (and plenty of secondary sources) as having died in France in December 1704. The timeline for the War of the Spanish Succession in the French theater in late 1704, according to the Wikipedia page for the Battle of Blenheim, is as follows:

Aug. 13: Battle of Blenheim: French Bourbon forces, overconfident from early victories in the war that erupted after the death of Charles II (the badly deformed product of generations of Hapsburg inbreeding in Spain), are badly defeated by the Grand Alliance at Blindheim (Blenheim), just when it seemed that French victory was apparent. The French were on their way to Wien (Vienna) to evict the Hapsburgs from their capital, but were stopped at this site, just northwest of Munchen (Munich).

Oct. 26: English forces under Marlborough march on the Moselle River and seize Trier, blocking the retreat for French forces in that valley. If Francis was part of this campaign, he likely would have fought here.

Nov. 7: After Bavaria falls under Allied military control, the Bavarian nobility sign the Treaty of Ilbersheim, effectively removing them from the war. French forces withdraw toward Strasbourg.

Dec. 20: English forces take Trarbach, the last major French holdout on the Moselle. Marlborough sets out for England shortly after, arriving about five days later (Dec. 14, Julian calendar).

If Francis died in battle, it would have been on Julian calendar date Dec. 9 (Dec. 20 by the modern Gregorian calendar). But the secondary sources citing his death do not mention a death in battle, only a death in France.
