Philemon Chandler, second son of that name, was born at Andover, Massachusetts on September 4, 1671, son of William Chandler Jr. and his first wife Mary Dane. [1] [2] [3]
He married first Hannah Clary/Cleary/Cheaney at Cambirdge, Massachusetts on April 18, 1700. [5] [3]
His wife Hannah died on June 24, 1735 at Pomfret, Connecticut [6] and is buried in the South Burying Ground, donated to the town by her husband, where her inscription reads: Here lyes ye Body of Mrs Hannah Chandler the Wife of Mr Philemon Chandler She died June ye 24 1735 In ye 64th Year of her age [3] [4]
Philemon married second, Mrs. Patience Griggs of Woodstock, Connecticut on May 5, 1759. [6] [3]
He died on May 7, 1752 [6] and is buried with wife Hannah and some of the children in the South Burying Ground at Pomfret. His inscription reads: Here lies ye body of Dean Philemon Chandler he departed this life May 7th 1752 in ye 81st year of his age [4] [3]
