Deacon Philemon Chandler

He was the son of William Chandler Jr. and Mary Clark Dane. He married Hannah Cleary on April 18, 1700 in Pomfret Connecticut.

Biography

Philemon Chandler was born on September 4, 1671, in Andover, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA. Philemon's parents were William Chandler, III and Mary (Dane) Chandler.

Philemon died on May 7, 1752, in Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut, USA, and was buried in South Cemetery, Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut, USA.

Philemon Chandler, second son of that name, was born at Andover, Massachusetts on September 4, 1671, son of William Chandler Jr. and his first wife Mary Dane. [1] [2] [3]

He married first Hannah Clary/Cleary/Cheaney at Cambirdge, Massachusetts on April 18, 1700. [5] [3]

His wife Hannah died on June 24, 1735 at Pomfret, Connecticut [6] and is buried in the South Burying Ground, donated to the town by her husband, where her inscription reads: Here lyes ye Body of Mrs Hannah Chandler the Wife of Mr Philemon Chandler She died June ye 24 1735 In ye 64th Year of her age [3] [4]

Philemon married second, Mrs. Patience Griggs of Woodstock, Connecticut on May 5, 1759. [6] [3]

He died on May 7, 1752 [6] and is buried with wife Hannah and some of the children in the South Burying Ground at Pomfret. His inscription reads: Here lies ye body of Dean Philemon Chandler he departed this life May 7th 1752 in ye 81st year of his age [4] [3]

His widow Patience died on October 4, 1754. [6] [3]
