Born the second of four girls to Jacob Boyer and Elizabeth Transue; granddaughter to Bishop John Boyer.

Married Jacob Fried/Freed and had one infant son, Henry, who died before her own untimely death at age 25 of convulsions. Her younger sister Caroline married widower Jacob later in 1850, had a family, and also died of convulsions of pregnancy.
