Delfina Guerra

Delfina Guerra was born a fraternal triplet with a sister, Manuela, and a brother, Eutimio, on December 24, 1858 in Reynosa or Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She was a daughter of Ramon Guerra and Matilde Flores.

She married Mr. Manuel Beltran in Hidalgo County, Texas. Delfina and Manuel had at least one child together and they named their daughter Delfina. Delfina Guerra and Manuel Beltran ended their relationship and Manuel Beltran married one of Delfina's younger sister, Maria Ysabel Beltran (1870-1953). Delfina Guerra and her daughter lived in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Most of Delfina Guerra's family moved from further north from the border after the 1880 United States Federal Census. Delfina's oldest brother stayed behind and lived his life on the border along with his sister. The 1880 United States Federal Census was the last census Delfina was enumerated in. At that time, she was listed in the household of Manuel Beltran and Manuel's mother, Martina Aracheta and they were living in Bee County, Texas.

She basically disappeared and the only records that mention her are border crossing records up to 1925; her daughter's birth, marriage, and death registrations; and her grandchildren's birth registrations. As a matter of fact, Delfina's name lives on in the Guerra family. One of Delfina's granddaughter's is named Delfina and it is from her birth registration on September 3, 1927 (thirteen years after she was born) where Delfina I (Senior) Guerra is listed as deceased.
