Delia Vander Schaaf

Delia Vander Schaaf, age 94, of Hudsonville, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior early Sunday morning, September 30, 2012. She was born March 3, 1918 in Hull, Iowa. Delia was one of the last surviving charter members of the Hull, Iowa Protestant Reformed Church where she married her husband of 59 years, Dowie, who preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her five brothers, Albert, John, Joe, Gerrit, and Ralph Brummel. She will be greatly missed by her children, Peter and Dorothy Vander Schaaf, Gary and Karen Vander Schaaf; 12 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marie Brummel of Hull, IA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held 1 pm on Wednesday at Hudsonville Protestant Reformed Church, 5101 Beech Tree, Hudsonville with Rev. Gerrett Eriks officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Drive. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Protestant Reformed Special Education Fund, c/o Heritage Christian School.
