Deliverance Hawes was born at Dorchester, Massachusetts on June 11, 1640, daughter of Richard and Anne (____) Hawes. [2]

Deliverance married first John Rockwell as his second wife, on August 18, 1662 at Windsor, Connecticut. Her name on the marriage record is incorrectly listed as 'Hayes'. [3] [2] John was baptized at Dorchester, Dorsetshire, England on July 18, 1627, son of William and Susan (Capen) Rockwell. [4][5][6]

After John died on September 7, 1673 [3], she married second, Robert Warner February 2, 1674/5, at Windsor as his second wife. [2] Robert was born about 1630, son of Andrew and Mary (Humfrey) Warner. [7][8][6]

Her husband Robert died on April 10, 1690. [9] [10] [8]

Deliverance married third, about 1692, Nathaniel Bissell, as his third wife. Nathaniel, son of John Bissell was born at Windsor on September 24, 1640. [9]

1681: July 30: Deliverance Warner was admitted to the church at Middletown. [8]
1708: August 22: Deliverance Bissell, alias Warner, with her daughter Ruth Bissell, alias Warner, was dismissed from the First Church at Middleton to the Windor Scantic Church. [11] [8]
Nathaniel Bissell died on March 12, 1713/4 at Windsor. [9]

Deliverance died at Middletown, Connecticut on June 12, 1718. [9] [10]

The entry states that the mar occurred at Dorchester, Mass. The wife is called Deliverance "Haynes" on mar entry. However, a manuscript genealogy of the Rockwell family, dated 1731, identifies her as "Haws." No Deliverance Haynes has been found, and Deliverance Hawes was the right age and lived in Dorchester where the mar occurred. See D. William Patterson, "The Rockwell Family," NYGBR, 2(1871):99-100 (FHL #974.7 B2n).
