Derek Cornelius (1938 - 2013)

Brief overview:

Derek (75), was found murdered in his Weltevreden Park home in Roodepoort, when he failed to collect his grandchildren from school on 13th February 2013. W/O Karen Jacobs said Derek's daughter, Lindsay, went to his house and found her father's body in his bedroom. Jacobs said it looked as though Cornelius had been beaten to death, but autopsy results would reveal more details.

There were no signs of forced entry, and the only items stolen were two cellphones and an XBox. His neighbour, Robert Perry, who lived about 2km from Cornelius, said his home had been broken into on Thursday, and that police had apprehended two suspects.
