Diana Usher

In 1841, Diana was 19 and lived in a household at South End or the Green, parish of St John, Devizes. The household seems to have been headed by a 52-year-old Widow and two sons in their early teens, with Diana and one other young woman as servants.

In the 1851 census, Diana's occupation was listed as "Laundress", and the family lived at 125 South End, parish of St Johns, Devizes. Her name did not appear on the 1861 census, so she may have been elsewhere at the time of the census, or may have died. It would seem possible that she had two sons called Joseph (one of whom presumably died!) or there is a significant error in recording Joseph's age in either the 1851 or 1861 census.
