Dolores Mae Lapinski Rodland, 94, passed away peacefully at her son’s residence in Simpsonville SC on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. She was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, April 21, 1928, a daughter of the late John and Lula Lapinski.

She remembered an incredible life growing up in Erie, along with seven siblings. She met her husband of 45 years, John, while working at the local General Electric plant. They married at Saint John’s Lutheran Church, in Erie, PA. Moving to Harborcreek, she immediately became a stepmother of two children, Dorthy Joann and William. Three more sons would follow. Raised in the Catholic Faith, she and her family joined the South Harborcreek United Methodist Church, where she retained membership there, for life.

After retirement, Dolores and her husband moved to Harborcreek’s Benetwood Community, where (until the past few years), she remained an active and involved resident for over thirty years. But it was her grand, and great-grandchildren, that gave her her greatest joy.

Survivors include her sister, Jacqueline Lapinski Roward (Charles); her sons, William E. Rodland (Mickey), John A. Rodland (Melody), Perry R. Rodland (Pamela), and Dennis G. Rodland; along with nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John William Rodland; her daughter, Dorthy Joann Eimers; her sisters, Lorna “Penny” Anderson, Patricia Dean, and Bonita Roberson; her brothers; Eugene Lapinski, Leonard Lapinski, and Gordon Lapinski; a granddaughter, Kristin Marie Rodland; two great-grandsons, Kristopher Cole Rodland and Jared Huffman; and a great-granddaughter, Orion Rodland.

Friends are invited to call at the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Road, on Thursday, July 7th from 3 pm until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7 pm. To attend virtually, please logon to www.dusckasfuneralhome.com at the time of the service and click on the link in Dolores’ obituary. Private interment will be held at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Harborcreek United Methodist Church, 7929 McGill Road, Harborcreek, PA 16421. Condolences may be sent to www.dusckasfuneralhome.com.
