Don Dionisio Santos Diaz

Don Dionisio Diaz served as the President of the Construction Committee for the reconstruction of the old church building of Talavera after World War II. The said church suffered a direct hit from a bomb of a USAFFE fighter plane and a third part of it was completely destroyed including the façade and the altar mayor. Along with him who lead the committee are Don Emilio Capulong (treasurer), Don Angel Rivera (Secretary), and Rev Fr Angel Cruz (honorary chairman). Their campaigns for the church reconstruction was launched on October 27, 1946.

Dionisio Diaz, from San Rafael, Bulacan, arrived in the year 1916 in Bugtong na Buli, Talavera, Nueva Ecija. He cleared some area and built his first house in the town. His son Leopoldo Diaz became a councilor and municipal mayor of Talavera, provincial governor of Nueva Ecija and congressman of the first district of Nueva Ecija.
