1525 Donald na Ord Stewart 2nd of Invernahyle b. 1525. According yo The Scottish Journal Easter Invernenty was owned by the Stewarts of Invernahyle from the time of Donald nan Ord and tenanted by Cadets. Donald nan Ord also owned property in Kilmadock Parish which he rented out.

Between the Stewarts of Invernahyle and the Campbells of Dunstaffnage there existed a bitter feud, and about the beginning of the sixteenth century the Stewarts of Invernahyle were all cut off but one child, the infant son of Stewart of Invernahyle, by the chief of Dunstaffnage, called Cailein Uaine, "Green Colin". The boy's nurse fled with him to Ardnamurchan (MacIain country), where her husband, the blacksmith of the district, resided. The blacksmith brought him up to his own trade, and at sixteen years of age he could wield two forehammers at once, one in each hand, on the anvil, which acquired for him the name of Domhnull nan ord "Donald of the hammers". Having made a two-edged sword for him, his foster-father, on presenting it, told him of his birth and lineage, and of the event which was the cause of his being brought to Ardnamurchan. Burning with a desire for vengeance, Donald set off with twelve of his companions, for each of whom, at a smithy at Corpach in Lochaber, he forged a two-edged sword. He then proceeded direct to Dunstaffnage, where he slew Green Colin and fifteen of his retainers. Having recovered his inheritance, he ever after proved himself "the unconquered foe of the Campbell".

1501 Argyll and Glenurchy recognize Duncan Stewart as holder direct from the Crown the whole of Appin and Lismore. By right of heritage from his father Dugald Maclaurin Stewart.

Donald of the Hammer Invernayhle and a Maclaurin Chieftain slay Green Colin Campbell.R.R. McIan’s book with Logan’s text says with a long bow a young Chief of Maclaurins, by a singular act of coolness and dexterity slew Caillian uaine “Green Colin”, the leader of a predatory band of Campbells from Dunstaffnage, and recovered the cattle they were driving away. His cairn is still pointed out, and the traditional "sgeulachd," or legend, is interesting.

Baby Donald may have been hidden in a castle by a nurse when his father was killed. She later came back to find him still alive.

Name: Donald nan Ord STEWART 2nd of Invernahyle Sex: M Birth: ABT 1525 in Invernahyle, Appin, Argyle, Scotland Death: UNKNOWN

Note:

Donald was nicknamed "nan Ord" ("of the hammer") because of his ability two wield two smiths hammers at a time. He was a very young child when his father was murdered by Green Colin Campbell of Dunstaffnage. Donald was raised in secret by the local blacksmith in order to protect him from the Campbells of Dunstaffnage. Donald was not told of his true identity until he was a youth. Donald took revenge for his father's murder and killed Green Colin Campbell along with several other Campbell. This of course only served to further enflame the feud between the two clans. Donald was alive in 1547 and led Clan Appin at the Battle of Plinkie.
