About Donald (sic) Charles Fletcher
Donald and Charles Fletcher helped on the farm and mined and worked around the district. One job which they did was erect stone fences, using stones from the area, some of which still stand today.
In 1874 both men pushed north looking for suitable land on which the family could settle, they settled in Bangerang. They returned in February 1875 accompanied by their mother & brother Dugald. They built a small room for their mother and the men slept in tents until a suitable house was built. This first room later became a blacksmith's forge. The main house was built from pine logs from the area.
