DORATHIE STEWART

Dorathie Stewart is the daughter of Adam Stewart. She was born before 11 July 1568, the date upon which her baptism was registered at Perth, in Perthshire, Scotland. The name of her mother is not mentioned in her baptismal record but she is probably the daughter of Janet Ruthven. Her baptismal record reads as follows: "11 Julie pa Adame Stewart test Thomas Moneypeny James McBeath [child] Dorathie Stewart." Death

A date and place of death has not been identified for Dorathie Stewart, here treated. However, she is not mentioned in her mother's testament dative and inventory, and it seems possible, quite likely even, that she died before 8 March 1606, the date upon which her sister Elspeth Stewart was confirmed as her deceased mother's only executor dative. Her Mother's Testament Dative

Janet Ruthven, died intestate on 20 January 1606. Her testament dative and inventory was given up on 22 February 1606 by her daughter Elspeth Stewart. At the time of her mother's death, she and her mother were residents of the City of Perth. Elspeth Stewart, who was her mother's only executor dative, may have been the only child still in life. Certainly, no financial provision was made for any others. Confirmation was granted to Elspeth Stewart on 8 March 1606.
