[NewMaster.FTW] Before entering the army, he graduated at Erskine College and Arch Street Dental College, Philadelphia. Served in the Confederate Army in Company B., 7th South Carolina Regiment. In 1862 was transferred to Company G., 2nd South Carolina Calvary. He served throughout the entire war and returned home without injury. He made his home in the lower part of Abbeville County, SC and for a time lived in Due West, SC in the home built for him by his father. (This home was later owned by Miss Lola Bell.) He and his wife, Mattie, adopted two children - (William) Lindsay Wilson and Addie Lowry.
