Alanson Joseph Abbe, b. Feb. 18, 1861, in Abington, Massachusetts.
Graduate of the Boston Latin School, 1877; A.B., 1881; A.M., 1885; M.D., 1885, Harvard University. Has practiced medicine in Fall River, Massachusetts, (Bristol County) since 1895 ; ophthalmic surgeon to Fall River Hospital. Was alderman-at-large, 1903-7. Member and officer of various medical societies, state and local.
Married in Andover, Massachusetts, June 7, 1888, Louisa Adelaide Eaton, b. in Andover, Feb. 20, 1860, daughter of James Stewart and Louisa (Howard) Eaton. Graduate of Wellesley, B.A., 1883. She has been a member of the school committee of Fall River and a member and officer of various clubs.
