Dr. Belcher Noyes, Esq.

A.B. of Harvard 1727; A.M. Harvard, 1785. He was a physician in Boston for many years, and accumulated a large estate; among other items on the inventory of his estate was "one-half of Roanoke Island, N.C." He was chosen proprietor's clerk of Topsham, Me., in 1757.

October 4, 1731 Belcher Noyes (Gentleman) deeds to Hugh Hall, Esq., land in the West side of Orange St.; E. on Orange St., S. on land of William Payne, W. by the sea, N. on land of Sarah Noyes (sister). W. side Washington St. S. of Boylston St. September 13, 1733 Belcher Noyes (Gentleman) & Sarah Noyes (spinster) deed to Hugh Hall Esq. land at the South End; W. on Orange St., N. by land belonging to Obadiah Gore; E. by the sea; S. on the sea; (SD 47:276-7). E. side Washington S. of Boylston St. July 21, 1743 Belcher Noyes (physician) buys the shop, middle room, with cellar, and upper rooms of a mansion house, of Henry Gibbs. (SD 159:196). Pierce's Alley, S. house and land belonging to estate of Charles Apthorp, W. land belonging to estate of Charles Apthorp, and land belonging to heirs of John Hancock. Cancelled October 5, 1770.
