Dr. Elijah Baldwin

Elijah Baldwin, son of Timothy Baldwin and Mabel Cooper, was born in Derby, New Haven Co., Connecticut on Sept. 11, 1740; he died Mar. 18, 1816; his tombstone, differing as usual from other records, says aged 78. He lived in Derby, and was a physician. He married with MARGARET LESTER, dau. of Murray Lester, Esq., of Poughkeepsie, New Yor; she died Aug. 10, 1823, aged 79. Murray was of an old and leading family at Poughkeepsie.

Children were: Timothy (1784), Abigail Aiken (1787; d. 8/16/1794), Margaret (d. unm in Derby in Oct, and about 1853), Mable (m. Abel Burritt), Sarah (m. Fitch Smith), and Murray L.
