James (60) a doctor and farmer from Committee’s Drift, Grahamstown, was found bludgeoned and stabbed to death on 29th July 2005. Captain Mali Govender said a domestic worker discovered James in a pool of blood in his kitchen at around 08:00. "It is believed he may have been struck with an object on his head."

Grahamstown police commissioner, Director Vakala Moyake, extended condolences to Biggs's family, saying: "We are deeply saddened by this senseless killing."
