Green A. Huff, son of Dr. Winston and Stacy Parker Huff, was b. ca 1851/53, d. 9 Oct 1889, m. Susan Wynn 10 Oct 1876. She was b. 2 Oct 1858, d. 11 May 1938, dau. of Elkanah & Elizabeth Kelly Wynn. Susan married 2nd John J. Lewis on 1 Jan 1901 of Letcher Co., KY. He died 8 Feb 1918.
Child: Elkanah Wynn Huff, b. 4 July 1878, d. 1938, m. Daisie Ione Morgan, on 22 June 1904. Daisie d. 1938, dau. of Bolivar and Inez Sylvia Young Morgan. Had child: George Wynn Huff, b. 25 Nov 1905 in Manila, P. I.
Dr. James Huff, at a very early date, lived in the vicinity of Big Stone Gap, Wise Co., VA. He was a member of the party of settlers, under Captain Vincent Hobbs, who killed the half-breed Indian Chief Benge in 1794. Later, he moved to Harlan Co., KY, where he died on Clover Fork in 1852. Among his children were: (1) Thomas Huff; (2) Isaac W. Huff; (3) Daughter Huff; (4) D. Winston Huff; (5) James Huff; (6) Martin Huff; (7) Rena Huff.

Hello! I am searching for my ancestor Obedience Koger who married my gggggg gramdfather Dr. James Huff . James Huff was born about 1763, and from Kentucky census records so was Obedience. The census also says that they were both born in Virginia. They were the earliest settlers Lee county Virginia. They came to Harlan Co. Ky in the early 1800s.
I have heard that they may have been married in Tennessee, but I do not have proof of this. I have also heard that they may have spent some time in South Carolina. A copy of a letter someone sent me mentions a Dr. Koger and is addressed to "My Dear Cousins" and signed by a Peter Koger. James and Obedience had several children: James Jr., Thomas, Winston, Isaac, and Nancy. I have not been able to find info. on Obedience or her parents.
