About John Owen Miner, M.D.
He was noted for his professional skill and personal qualifications, and as the father of a bevy of brilliant and merry daughters. It is said that a suitor for consent to court his daughter, on being asked "Which one?" replied "Any one of them." Dr. Miner rendered aid to the wounded after the battle of Fort Griswold.
