About Dr. med. dent. Curt Proskauer
Curt Proskauer (b. Oct. 24, 1887 in Wroclaw , d. March 3, 1972 in New York City ) - German dentist, dental historian.
He studied medicine in Wroclaw and Berlin, received the title of Doctor of Medicine in 1919. From 1919 to 1923 he was curator of historical collections of the Institute of Dentistry, University of Wrocław. Since 1927 Director of the German Institute for the History of Dentistry. In 1933, because of his Jewish origin lost his job. In 1939, he emigrated with his family to Italy, and in 1940 to the United States. In the years 1940 to 1946 worked with the New York Academy Medical Library, co-editor of the journal "Journal of the History of Medicine and Allied Sciences".
