Drury Stith, III, was the son of Drury Stith, Jr. and wife Elizabeth Buckner. He was born in Virginia about 1718 and died in Virginia in 1770. He married (1) Martha (?). He married (2) Elizabeth Jones, the widow of Thomas Eldridge. In his public career he was the County Surveyor for Brunswick Co., Virginia in 1740 and 1751, Sheriff of Brunswick Co. in 1757, Justice in 1747 and 1756, and served as Burgess for Brunswick Co. in 1748-1756. In his military career he was Major of Horse in the Virginia Militia in 1746, Colonel of Foot in 1753 and Colonel of Brunswick Co. Militia in 1759.
