About Earl Milford Anderson

from Dr. Craig Stevenson's History compiled 1984:

Earl attended Fletcher School, after which he worked for a time as a hired hand. He then attended the Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and graduated in March, 1926. He was hired by Western United (a public service company); while employed there, he was injured in an accident and taken to Morris Hospital. Here he met Verna Misener, a graduate nurse. On March 8, 1930, he married Verna in Paxton, Illinois. (their attendants were Wanita.Natzinger and Arthur Stevenson, who married the following year)

Earl and Verna moved to the Merle Coop farm on Helmar Road, where Earl farmed for three years.

Then they moved to the Lowell Peterson farm on Route 52 where he farmed for several more years before they moved to Mazon.

There he worked doing odd jobs for about a year. In 1937, Earl began working for the public service company again, (although it was now called Commonwealth Edison) and he and Verna moved to Aurora, Illinois. They bought a home at 702 South Broadway where they lived with their two children--Richard born 1932, in Morris, Illinois; Arlene born 1933, also in Morris.

During their marriage, Earl and Verna also had two other children, one of whom was stillborn, and another who passed away several hours after birth. Earl had heart trouble and on March 13, 1952, he died and was buried in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Aurora. Verna stayed in their home on South Broadway until 1961 when she sold the house and moved to plum Street.

She passed away in September of 1980
