On the tree passed down the family it is clear that Edith's maiden name was ANDERTON. However, some online trees state her surname was ANDERSON, probably because there is a marriage record online somewhere with this name.

A record newly available online via Ancestry [viewed 11 November 2021] lists marriages in the Diocese of Ossory. She is the only person listed under the surname ANDERTON, with her marriage to Alexander ADAMS taking place in the year 1831.
