discussion

With the Edmond Roberts family tied by marriage to the Dutch Reformed Church's Vanhorns in 1738, it would not be any stretch of the imagination to believe that the two John Roberts married to Jannetje Bennet and Brakey Cornell in the next generation are somehow related to him. Both the Bennet and Cornell families plus the Kroessens are original and prominent Bucks County LDRC surnames... just like the Van Hoorns.

Unfortunately, the well-developed Van Hoorn genealogy doesn't follow include anything more than the marriage of Edmond Roberts and Jannetje. A protracted search of early Bucks county records has not revealed anything further about this couple. They do not, for example, show up in the LDRC records with baptism(s). It is through their marriages in the North and Southampton DRC that we see repetitive marriages of a later Roberts to a Cornell of this same small DRC community.
