brief biography

Capt. Edmund Bacon, born 1641 in Suffolk, UK, a son of William Bacon, grandson of Sir James Bacon came to military duty abut 1680. In 1682 he married Ann Lyddall, daughter of Bridget (Woodward) and Col. George Lyddall, also from Suffolk, in 1650.

On October 21, 1687. Capt. Edmund Bacon patented 443 acres in New Kent County, VA, on the Pamunkey River. He was a sheriff of New Kent County and a vestryman of St Peter's Parish. He married Anne Lyddall who was a daughter of Maj. George Lyddall.
