From "Early Families of Weymouth" (Chamberlain -- rife with errors throughout but probably not in these basic entries): Edmund HART prob. came in the "Mary and John," arr. at Dorchester in 1630, having landed at Nantasket, 30 May 1630. The company set. in Dorchester on or about 17 June 1630, and Mr. Hart was granted land there in 1632. He was made a freeman of the Mass. Bay Colony, 14 May 1635. Town records of Dorch. show that Edmond HART et al. "are to have their great lotts of 16 acres a peece, next to the great lotts that are all redy layde owt towardes Neponsett," 16 Jan 1632. He had 18 acres granted to him in Weymouth in 1636 and 11 acres in the East field and three acres at Kingoke [sic; King Oak] Hill. He also had seven acres in the First Division and 21 acres in the Second Div. granted to him 14 Dec 1663. Savage conjectures that he rem. from Weymouth to Westfield after 1664, and that he was the same of his name killed there by lightning in 1673. His wife d. at Weymouth, 20 Aug 1659.
