Drexel Marshal "Dick" Hermann
Mr. Hermann was born February 6, 1932 in Rice Lake, WI to the late Emil Hermann and Mary Georgeanna Shaw Hermann. Mr. Hermann served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, after his time in the service he worked for 24 years in the fork lift industry. He retired in 1995 from Modern Handline Company as the Parts Department Manager for 7 years. Mr. Hermann was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church, Moose Lodge #534 in Harrington, the American Legion Walter L. Fox Post #2 and the Harrington Senior Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Emily Bishop Hermann; a daughter, Donna Gail Hermann Reed; a grandson, Michael Reed; his brother, Lorne Hermann; and 3 sisters, Gene Beck, Evelyn Randall and Patricia Keebaugh. Mr. Hermann is survived by his 3 sons, Dennis Hermann of Pasadena, MD Drexel Hermann of Haddonfield, NJ and Doug Herman of Harrington, DE; a son-in-law, Tom Reed and his wife, Amy, of Landberg, PA; 1 brother, Edward Lee Hermann of WI; 4 brothers-in-law and sister-in-laws, Jesse Bishop and his wife, Joan, of Harrington, DE, James McClain and his wife, Ann, of Smyrna, DE and Gene Engle and his wife, Pat, of Clayton, DE and Betty Lou McQuaide of Rising Sun, DE; a sister, Betty Jane Lemeke of WI; 2 granddaughters, Carolyn Hermann of Portsmouth, VA and Kathryn Hermann of Townsend, DE; many nieces and nephews; and a good friend, Musetta Hausler of Harrington, DE. A graveside service will be held at 10 am, Friday August 19, 2006, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE. Friends may call from 7-9 pm, today, August 17, at the TORBERT FUNERAL CHAPEL South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10) Dover, DE. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Highway, Dover, DE 19901; or Harrington Senior Center, 102 Fleming Street, Harrington, DE 19952.
