Byl zvolen představeným horažďovické židovské náboženské obce v r.1885 a měl velké zásluhy na zavedení češtiny v jednání obce a ve vyučování v náboženské škole. Již na prvním zasedání představenstva po svém zvolení prohlásil:"My Židé žijeme zde v plně českém kraji a nemáme zájmu na němčině. Činím návrh, aby obec v úředním jednání užívala jazyka českého a také modlitby v templu, při pohřbech i náhrobní nápisy byly české." Návrh byl přijat. Eduard Münz zemřel v r.1916 ve věku 75 let, jeho náhrobek je možné najít na novém židovském hřbitově. Horažďovická firma Münz byla po několik generací zdejším tradičním výrobcem lihovin, sídlila v tzv.Korvínovském domě na náměstí, dnes restaurace U Münzů.

Eduard Münz was elected leader of the Horaždovice Jewish religious community in 1885 and had great merit in the introduction of the Czech language in the meetings of the community and in teaching in the religious school. At the first meeting of the board of directors after his election, he declared: 'We Jews live here in a fully Czech region and we have no interest in German. I am making a proposal that the municipality use the Czech language in official proceedings and also prayers in the temple, during funerals and tombstone inscriptions should be in Czech.' The motion was accepted. Eduard Münz died in 1916 at the age of 75, his tombstone can be found in the new Jewish cemetery. For several generations, the Horažďov company Münz was the local traditional producer of spirits, it was based in the so-called Korvínovský house on the square, today the U Münzů restaurant.
